You will see I have used netting from fruit and veg produce, plastic and card from packaging that I have collected over time, and vinyl offcuts from Ha garment printing shop in Knaresborough, plastic bags from my workplace, second hand beads and even more goodies. This has led me to explore lots of different textures and methods of application to create these bright playful pieces.
Going into this I was worried about veering away from my usual go to colours of pinks and purples and always having shiny sparkly pieces. But by stepping out of my comfort zone of pinks and purples, I have discovered a wider use of colour and texture. I also didn’t need to worry about losing my glitter and sparkle as it turns out a lot of packaging has it and the vinyl I acquired is very sparkly as well. If I had bought my supplies I would have just stayed within my usual colour palette. Although I am still to be convinced to use black or brown.
